Cinema is Dead!!!

Bob on the Bob - Cinema is DEAD!!!! by Bob Cinema is dead, or at the very least is dying. I cannot remember the last time I went to see a film pay at the cinema that was actually worth the ticket fee. The rise of the Hollywood blockbuster is, of course, to blame for this! Oh, how I HATE what films such as Jaws and Star Wars have done to this art form. Cinema used to be something that made an audience think and feel. Now, now it is simply there for entertainment. Why? Is it because people are morons? Is it because filmmakers now only think about money? Well yes. Yes to both of these. It pains me that I am slightly too young to remember the days of when cinema was a respected art form. Gone are the days of the true auteur. It is rare that we see the films of Godard, Fellini, Jonas Mekas and the likes at the cinema anymore. Now we must sit through the utter shite that is mainstream cinema.  Cinema reminds me a lot about vinyl, in the sense that we are killing it by just givi...

Why Vinyl Matters

Bob on the Bob - Why Vinyl Matters by Bob In recent times, the number of ways we listen to music has changed so much. We have CD's now, we have tape recordings, we have the radio constantly playing when driving. The most recent seems to be the rise in the music video (the most pointless of all). And what is the cost of this rise in the ways we can listen to music? The only true way of listening to music, the vinyl record. Why you may ask? Well for many reasons. Mainly for the audio quality as vinyl sounds just as the artist intended. Listening to a CD or tape or whatever just ruins it as it gets tampered with too much by someone who hasn't got any fucking idea of what music is supposed to sound like. Another reasons is that listening to vinyl means that you actually listen to it . When you listen to a CD or a tape or the radio, its just background noise to distract you from your pathetic life. If you don't have time to just sit back and listen to music in its true form...
